Pastor Lyle A. Richards, the third of seven children raised in a small prairie city in
Saskatchewan. Pastor Richards trusted Christ as Savior and followed His call to ministry after nearly 25 years of employment for a major oil company.
Like most, much of who we are is shaped by our times, before and after becoming a Christian. My family, plus all those who impacted my life in the oil patch are part of the mosaic of my life today. However, it is Christ who has given me a new nature and eternal life, for which I am now indebted.
I understand my salvation as completely the work of God. I am referring to the act in which God counted me a sinner to be righteousness through faith in Christ on the basis of Christ's perfect blood and righteousness, specifically the righteousness that Christ accomplished by his perfect obedience in life and death.
In other words, Christ has become my substitute in two senses: in his suffering and death he became my curse and condemnation (Galatians 3:13; Romans 8:3). And in his suffering and life he became my perfection (2 Corinthians 5:21). On the one hand, his death is the climax of his atoning sufferings, which propitiate the wrath of God against us (Romans 3:24-25); on the other hand, his death is the climax of a perfect life of Righteousness imputed to us (2 Corinthians 5:21; cf. Romans 4:6, 11 with 3:21-22; 5:18-19).
I received a Master of Divinity degree and an earned Doctor of Ministry in 1982 and 1995 respectively.
It is my sincere desire that the primary efforts of my ministry would be to the systematic, verse-by-verse teaching of God's Word. That I would be committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and to helping believers grow stronger in their relationship with Him.
I was married in 1957 to my wife Joan (Hayes). We have three married children, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren the joy of our lives.
Nevertheless, the purpose or plan for using this site is not to rehearse our personal joys or to cover what may be found elsewhere, but to let the site grow as it develops to the glory of God. This site will include the Pastors views with links to additional sites as we are able and see the need.
